Pan Fried Fish Manchuria

Pan Fried Fish Manchuria.

Things you need

Fish fillet (Any fish with single bone is prefered) – 400 gms cut into cubes
For Marinade
Corn flour – 3 tbsp
All purpose flour – 3 tbsps
Salt – few pinches
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Cumin – 1/2 tsp
Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds – 1/2 tsp
Ginger – garlic paste – 1 tsp
Egg – 1 whole
water – 1 tbsp to make batter
Lemon – few drops


1.Wash the fish fillet and pat dry,then cut into small cubes and first mix a pinch of salt,turmeric and few drops of lemon and keep.
2.Dry roast cumin,pepper and coriander in a pan and powder with mortar and pestle.
3 In a mixing bowl,take the flours,red chili powder,dry roasted power,salt,gin -gar paste, water and egg and mix well .
4.Add the fish pieces to the batter and keep for 30 mins in the refrigerator.We can straight away also do the frying Thats not a thing to worry if out of time.
5 .Place a shallow pan and sprinkle 2 tsps of oil and roll the pan to spread the oil and place each piece on the pan and fry 3-4 min each side and toss well lastly to get fried all over.
6.Remove into a platter.We can serve just as they are or make the sauce.

For sauce we need
Onion – 1 diced
Capcicum – deseede and cut into cubes
Garlic – 1 pod minced
Soy sauce
Chilli sauce
Salt – a pinch
Red chillis – 1 not dry
Corn flour – 1 tbsp (Add to 2 tsp of water to make corn starch)

In the same pan put 1 sp oil ,minced garlic,onion and capsicum and fry on high for 2-3 mins,Now add the salt and sauces and 2 tsp of water and add the fried fish pieces to the sauce and stir well lastly add the corn starch and toss to get coated well.This sauce part is the same for any Indo-Chinese Dishes.
Turn off heat and serve hot.

I have tried my own blend of spices to this dish and this came out well .
