Chicken and Potato Stew

Ingredients

Chicken – 500gms
Potato – 2 medium
Onions – 2 med
Green chili – 1
Tomato – 3 med
Ginger-Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – few
Fresh coriander 1 tbsp
Garam masala 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Turmeric powder – 1 big pinch
Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder – 1tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp

Method

1.Wash chicken drain well and add a pinch of salt,turmeric and red chili powders,keep for 1/2 hr in refrigerator.
2.Heat a pan add oil,add chopped onions fry well,add ginger-garlic paste fry well till brown and add chicken stir well.
3.Add the spice powders and cook for five mins then add potatoes cut into cubes combine well.
4.Now add chopped tomatoes,curry leaves and green chili and mix.
5.Keep on low till tomatoes are soft then add 4 cups of water and salt and let boil well till done lastly add fresh coriander and turn of heat.

This is like curry but has lot of water in it and no need to fry the chicken more as for curry we do fry for long.This tastes good,can be served with raagi rice (raagi mudda) or dosas or chappattis.
