Dondakai (Tindly) Chutney

Dondakai (Tindli) Chutney


Dondakai (Tindly) – 10
Onion – 1 large sliced
Green chilis – 5
Tamarind – few small pieces
Tomato – 1 med chopped
Garlic – 1 pod ( optional)
Cumin – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp


1.wash and remove edges of tindly and slice.Heat a pan with oil and fry tindly till light brown and remove and keep aside,In the same pan fry sliced onion,tamarind,green chili for few mins and add tomato also and saute well and turn of heat.

2.Keep few fried onion pieces to add lastly after grinding to the chutney.
3.Let cool and transfer into mixer jar along with garlic,cumin and salt and grind coarsely .
4.Remove into a serving bowl and add the saved fried onion to the chutney.Serve with rice or dosas.
