Onion Chutney


Onions – 2 med
Tamarind – 2 inch piece
Cumin – 2 pinches
Red chili powder – 2 tsps
Salt – as per taste

For tempering

Oil – 2 tsps
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – few
Dry chilis – broken


Grind all the ingredients in a small mixer jar into coarse chutney and transfer into serving bowl.
Prepare the tempering by adding the ingredients to hot oil and pour over the chutney and mix well.

This chutney can be used as a spread for masala dosa before placing potato curry and roll.
