RidgeGourd(Beerakai) Curry


Beerakai (Ridge Gourd) Curry


Ridge gourd – 500g
Onion -1 large
Tomato – 2 small
Curry leaves – few
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 3 pinches
Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala – 1 pinch
Mustard – little
oil – 2tbsps


1. Peel the skins remove edges wash and taste a small piece for bitterness or before peeling the ridge gourd.And chop into small pieces.
2.Heat a kadai and add oil mustard and chopped onions fry till onion is transparent and add curry leaves and chopped ridge gourd stir well cover cook till soft and water in it reduces and add salt,red chili powder,coriander and turmeric powders.
3. Fry well for a couple of mins and add chopped tomatoes mix and cover cook till soft and done.
4.Add a pinch of garam masala.
5.Turn of heat and serve.
