Chocolate Vanilla Cake
This is my little son Kevin’s Favourite flavour….whenever he asks for a cake it would be Chocolate Vanilla Mix Cake!!!!He likes this with lots of icing…but here its a simple cake only.
Things you need are that of a basic vanilla cake….
Butter (Cooking Butter) -200gms
White Cooking Butter
Castor sugar/powdered sugar – 200gms
Eggs – 4 whole
Plain Flour/Maida – 200gms
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Baking soda – 1/4 tsp
Vanilla essence -1 tsp
Cocoa powder – 2 tbsps
Milk – 3 tbsps
In a mixing bowl take butter at room temperature and add the powdered sugar cream together till soft and add eggs one after the other and combine well…do not overbeat it may curdle….
Sieve the dry ingredients..plain flour,baking powder and baking soda and keep.
Mix cocoa powder in the milk and keep.
Now add the vanilla essence to the butter sugar mixture and fold in the dry ingredients and incorporate the air well into the batter by folding the flour only in one direction.
Divide the batter into two portions and in the second portion mix in the milk and cocoa mixture and combine well.
Preheat the oven to 180 degree C .
Grease the cake tin and dust with flour and pour in the vanilla batter first and then the chocolate cake batter over the vanilla and pass a knife over the batter.

Now place the cake tin in the middle rack and bake at 180 degrees C for about 25-30 mins as there is hollow in the middle.
When the cake tin is put upside down you get this wonderful chocolate vanilla mix cake…

You know what….this is the perfect Coffee Cake for Tea Time!!!!!!!This cake tastes better the day after you bake it…Very simple and easy….try out this and enjoy baking.
Things you need are
Cooking Butter(White Butter) -200 gms at room temperature.
Castor sugar or powdered sugar – 200 gms
Eggs whole – 4large
Plain flour/Maida – 200gms
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Baking soda – 1/8 tsp
Instant coffee powder – 2 tsps mix into 2tbsps of warm water
All you need to do first is sieve the dry ingredients ..plain flour,baking powder and baking soda and keep.
Take a mixing bowl drop in the butter and powdered sugar and cream well till soft,can use a normal whisk or hand mixer.
Add eggs one by one and whisk gently,pour in the coffee mixture and combine.
Lastly fold in the sieved dry ingredients and combine by folding technic to get the cake batter

Now preheat the oven to 180 degrees .
Take a cake pan/tin and grease it with butter and dust flour and shake off the excess flour and pour in the cake batter into the cake tin.
Place the cake tin in the middle rack and bake for about 20-25 mins.
Check the cake after 15-20 mins with a skewer or skarp knife for doneness….the skewer should come out clean..if something is sticking …bake further a couple of mins till done.
Baked cake in the tin
When done remove and place to cool and turn upside down on to large platter.
Slice and serve as you wish.
